The Last Voiceover-Rai

Hello Everyone!

I'm a late bloomer when it comes to seeing movies. A lot of times
I won't see a movie until it comes to video or even TBS or USA.
Yeah, I'm that cheap. As a result I just saw 'The Last Samurai'
with Tom Cruise. Good movie. This does have something to do with
voice over, so be patient.

You know the story, Tom Cruise gets captured by the bad guys and
lives among the people...the samurais. As he got to know them, he
was totally amazed at their level of commitment to their craft of
being the best samurais. He watched as they spent hours everyday to
hone their skills as warriors. I believe he was journaling and wrote
something to the effect of "I've never seen a people so dedicated to
the excellence of their craft in my life."

So now I have a question for you. If people could live in your house,
what would they say about your dedication, your level of commitment
to excellence in becoming the best voice actor you can be? If you're
like me, that's a sobering thought isn't it?

This is one of those areas in life where you really do have to be great
to get work.
Voice Over work.

"Don't settle for mediocrity.

Settle for excellence, and watch the rewards of patience come knocking
down your door."

till next time
,

Curt,
the voice-over coach
